Beach volleyball was born as a sand-based variation of volleyball and is played on a slightly smaller court (8 x 16 meters instead of 9 x 18).
There are numerous beach volleyball courts, both outdoor and indoor, throughout Italy, as well as many schools, training courses and tournaments organized all year round.
A beach volleyball facility requires proper equipment (net and boundary lines) and sand.
The quality of the sand and its levelling are extremely important. During play, holes and uneven areas can form, which may cause injuries and affect the dynamics of the game. For this reason, it is essential to level the sand before each match. This can be done manually or using beach cleaning machines / bunker machines.
